On Sunday July 16th the Oyster Bay Fire Department participated in a joint department drafting drill with Atlantic Steamer Fire Co, Bayville Fire Co, East Norwich Fire Co, and Glenwood Fire Co. Drafting is utilized in the event that hydrants are either not working, or not close enough to be utilized. Drafting can be done by tankers dumping water into specialized pools or by drafting water from ponds, or civilian swimming pools
