The Oyster Bay Fire Department participated in a joint F.A.S.T. training with the East Norwich Fire Company on Sunday, November 10th.
F.A.S.T. (Firefighter Assist and Search Team) is a crew of firefighters who are designated to help other firefighters if they have become distressed during a fire. The team is immediately put into action if a firefighter has become trapped in a fire structure, if they have become disorientated or lost, or when they are unable to remove themselves safety. This training is vital in keeping our firefighters save here in Oyster Bay, East Norwich, and other communities that we provide mutual aid to.
