On January 10th 2010, the Oyster Bay Fire Department participated a “joint” training drill with the firefighters from Atlantic Steamer Fire Company and the Syosset Fire Department.
The drill was held at a 1 story ranch style residence in Syosset that was set for demolition. Chiefs and Training officers from the 3 departments were able to set up live senerios ranging from basic handlines, ladder company search and rescue and FAST (firefighter assistant search team) drills. After the actual senerios concluded, a brief overview of the operation was held to point out areas that needed attention. Members were also able to perform basic skill such as forcible entry, firefighter escape, and overhauling.
