On March 15th 2006, the Oyster Bay Fire Department received a request from the Syosset Fire Department for an ambulance to respond to the scene of an MVA on Berry Hill Road at Renee Road. Oyster Bay Ambulance 5526 responded with Emergency Medical Technicians. Upon arrival at the incident the crew was directed to a patient that had suffered a head injury secondary to the accident. The patient was triaged by the crew of 5526, immobilized to prevent spinal injury, and transported to the closest area trauma center which was North Shore University Hospital at Huntington. Members from the Syosset Fire Department worked with the Jaw of Life to free two victims that had been pinned in their vehicles as a result of the accident. East Norwich Fire Company also responded with an ambulance and transported a patient to a local hospital. Nassau County Police Department Aviation Bureau was requested to transport one of the drivers that were pinned to Nassau University Medical Center.
