On Thursday Feb. 24, 2005 the Oyster Bay Fire Department was alerted for a mutual aid to the Syosset Fire Department for a ladder to respond to the scene of a working fire. Oyster Bay Tower Ladder 554 responded within minutes along with Chief’s DeCarolis and Mantegari Jr. Upon arrival Tower Ladder 4’s manpower under the direction of Captain Bellissimo went to work as a truck team. In the fire service the tasks of the truck team at fire calls are search and rescue, finding the fire, forcible entry, ventilation and overhaul. Members from Oyster Bay had the task of overhaul today working with members from Syosset, East Norwich and Jericho to remove debris from the fire building to ensure all fire was extinguished.
