On Sunday morning March 28th 2010 Oyster Bay Firefighters participated in a personal escape system demonstration at the Oyster Bay Fire Department headquarters. The system is designed to able a firefighter to escape from an upper floor window in the event the member is unable to safely exit the building the same way that he or she entered from. Chiefs and members from neighboring departments were also were on hand, and all of the members were allowed to try out the system.
