On Friday February 18th at appox. 0822hrs the Oyster Bay Fire Department was alerted to a report of house fire at 98 Summers Street. A nearby firefighter was the first to arrive and notifed FIRECOM of fully involved garage fire.
The first chief to arrive on the scene was Oyster Bay Fire Department Chief Anthony DeCarolis. Chief DeCarolis transmitted a “working fire” and set up the command post. The garage was 20×50 and was very close to a 2.5story residential structure.
2 handlines, 1 tower ladder, and 1 FOAM line were used to extinguish the fire in about an hour.
The cause of the fire in under investigation by the Nassau County Fire Marshals office.
